Minister Omerović discussed cooperation and projects in the field of education with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Akova.
On June 19, 2025, Dr. Ahmed Omerović, Minister of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Akova, a faculty member at Yalova University of the Republic of Turkey, and held a series of meetings.
It is known that Dr. Akova has been actively contributing to the strengthening of cooperation in education and science between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey for many years. During the meeting, Dr. Omerović and Dr. Akova discussed the implementation possibilities and sustainability of planned joint projects between the Republic of Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the process of making them operational.
In this context, Dr. Omerović stated that it was important for Dr. Akova to emphasize her dedicated work, especially for communities of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin in Türkiye. He also noted that Assoc. Prof. Dr. He added that Sibel Akova will also be presented with the Honorary Citizenship Certificate of the City of Živinice, which was highly esteemed.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Akova was awarded the Honorary Citizenship Certificate for her significant contributions to the struggle for freedom in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the preservation of democracy, the defense of human rights and freedoms, and the development of the economy, education, science, arts, sports, and other areas of life within the city of Živinice. Živinice Mayor Began Muhić and Živinice Municipality Provincial Council President Nermin Jusufović presented Akova with the certificate.
