Farewell Program for Our Esteemed Professors Retiring from Our Faculty

A farewell ceremony was held at our faculty to mark the retirement of Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Abay and Prof. Dr. Musa Şahin, esteemed faculty members of our Department of Social Work. The ceremony, which saw the enthusiastic participation of our academic staff and students, expressed our gratitude to our professors for their contributions to our university.

In an emotional program, Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Abay was the first to take the stage and delivered a farewell speech in which he shared his academic journey and memories of our university. Prof. Dr. Musa Şahin then took the floor and spoke about his long professional life and academic career. He shared the important milestones and experiences of his professional journey with the participants.

Following the speeches by our professors, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, took the floor. Our Dean thanked both professors for their contributions to our faculty, the students they have educated, and their contributions to the scientific community. During the rest of the ceremony, our faculty members and students, led by Prof. Dr. Harun Ceylan, Head of the Social Work Department, also took the floor to share their memories of our professors and express their affection for them.

Farewell Dinner and Plaque Presentation

Following the ceremony at the faculty, a farewell dinner was held in the evening in honor of Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Abay and Prof. Dr. Musa Şahin. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, our professors were presented with flowers and plaques in memory of the day.

As the Yalova University family, we thank our esteemed professors for their service to date and wish them health, peace, and happiness in their retirement.
