Yalova University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has adopted the principle of making a difference with its innovative vision and dynamic approach in its educational journey, which began in 2019. Our faculty, which began its academic life with the departments of Social Work, New Media and Communication, History, and Psychology, has been enriched by the addition of the Departments of Translation and Interpreting, and Philosophy, thus reaching a broad intellectual spectrum.
Our faculty, comprised of 40 expert academics and six dedicated administrative staff, provides a high-quality education to 1,236 undergraduate students. As part of our vision of internationalization, we host 84 international students and foster a global perspective through intercultural interaction and knowledge sharing. Our faculty, through international programs like Erasmus, brings our students to the global stage and aims to transcend academic boundaries through collaborations.
Focusing on the critical, analytical, and objective thinking skills that underlie the humanities and social sciences, our primary goal is to instill in our students tolerance, sensitivity to national and universal values, positive thinking, and effective problem-solving skills. Our faculty, not content with simply responding to today's needs, embraces a dynamic, innovative, and proactive educational approach to cultivate individuals who will be pioneers of change in the world of the future.
Our faculty, which has graduated 92 students to date, continues to develop and grow, drawing inspiration from deeply rooted values. Embracing a mindset that adapts quickly to change rather than a static structure, our faculty constantly renews its curriculum, faculty, and infrastructure, and is committed to making meaningful contributions to the humanities and social sciences on both a national and global scale.
Yalova University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will continue to be a center of thought and production that shapes the future, following universal values and focusing on science and humanity.
