As part of Yalova University's quality initiatives, a Quality Commission Meeting was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The meeting, chaired by Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, was attended by Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinem Baltacı and Dr. Lecturer Tahsin Eren Sayar, members of the unit and department quality commissions, members of the unit advisory board Murat Aslanhan, Metin Soysal, and Bülent Güler, and unit student representatives Eyüp Ensar Keskin, Kübra Gül Gümüş, and Eslem Nur Işık.
In his opening speech, Dean Kaplan made a general assessment of the faculty's quality processes and touched upon the quality audit work to be carried out in the near future. Emphasizing the efforts and work of all departments in the faculty in terms of quality, Kaplan thanked all faculty members who participated in the process and contributed to increasing the faculty's work.
Following Kaplan, Vice Dean Sinem Baltacı introduced the KIDR report and answer booklet, and the field visit booklets to the commission members. Providing important information regarding field visits, Baltacı emphasized the need to regularly monitor educational activities and Bologna data entries. After Baltacı, the Unit Quality representatives took the floor and provided information about the work done in the areas of education and training, sustainability, social contribution, and R&D.
Murat Aslanhan, one of the members of the unit advisory board who spoke at the meeting, mentioned that student-focused work would increase the faculty's visibility and its connection with the city of Yalova. Another member, Metin Soysal, stated that education, especially for vocational high schools, should be increased within the faculty and that social contribution should be supported by such efforts. Finally, Bülent Güler said that more attention should be paid to university and faculty promotional events and emphasized the importance of promotional activities in improving the quality process.
Finally, speaking on behalf of the student representatives, Eyüp Ensar Keskin said that increasing internship opportunities would increase student loyalty. Keskin also pointed out that faculty members' student-focused work would increase student satisfaction.
The meeting ended after the participants filled out a satisfaction survey.
