Yalova University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences bid farewell to its graduates who successfully completed the 2024-2025 Academic Year with a magnificent ceremony.
The graduation ceremony, held at the Mehmet Okul Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Yalova University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Taner Tatar, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, assistant deans, department heads, and numerous academic and administrative staff.
The graduation ceremony, which drew considerable attention from graduating students and their families, was a moving event. The ceremony began with opening remarks by Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan and Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, and then Psychology student Merve Seçkin was announced as the top student of the faculty. Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı presented Seçkin with her plaque and award.
Then, the names of the graduates of the Social Work, New Media and Communication, Psychology, and History departments were read out, and they were invited to the stage. The students who won the Social Work program were presented with gifts and commemorative certificates by department head Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Abay; the students who won the New Media and Communication program were presented with gifts by department head Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gökhan Genel; the students who won the Psychology program were presented with gifts by department head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinem Baltacı; and the students who won the History program were presented with gifts by Prof. Dr. Oktay Özgül. Following a group photo, the students came on stage and blew their caps in the air after the countdown.
