Important Cooperation Between Our Faculty and Tuzla University in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The delegation from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, led by Yalova University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tuzla University in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signing an important cooperation agreement to strengthen ties between the two friendly and sister countries.

Yalova University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Senay Yürür Karslıoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, and Associate Professor Dr. Sibel Akova Havalı from the Department of New Media and Communication, visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they met with the Rector of the University of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Amir Karic, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sead Nazibegovic, and the Vice Deans, Prof. Dr. Selma Kesetovic and Prof. Dr. Asım Pandzic.

During the meeting, which emphasized the importance of strengthening academic ties between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the field of social and human sciences, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yalova University and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tuzla University. The protocol, which marks the beginning of scientific and educational relations between the two institutions, was also considered an important step in academic terms between the Balkans and the Republic of Türkiye.

With the signed cooperation agreement, it is planned to organize joint international scientific conferences, launch projects, and implement faculty and student exchange programs. The cooperation processes between the two institutions are expected to contribute significantly to the development of interdisciplinary research, academic mobility, and the internationalization of higher education.
